Hanford Vintage Aircraft Display Day
A local TV weather forecaster said a couple of days before, "If you can't get the
weather you need, hopefully you will get the weather you want." The weather we
need would be precipitation--California is heading to its driest year on record for most
locations. What we are getting is beautiful weather for the first day of winter.
In the hangar participants, friends, and family enjoy another great breakfast.
Bringing Christmas music was this decorated Fire Truck.
This picture was taken at 8:44 A.M., approximately 26 minutes before the winter
solstice. Yes, everybody has a jacket on, but as the morning progressed, several
people started removing their outer garments.
These next three aircraft are getting their first pictures at Hanford Vintage Aircraft
Display Day.
On the far right is a partner in this Cessna 140. He is going through A&P
school. I bet when he is done this plane will be very nice.

This RV-8 is making its first appearance. At first everybody thought it was
another RV-8, but looking closer one can see it is not the one that has been here many
times.

This RV-8 has been a regular attendee. It is easy to see why at a distance
everybody thought the plane above was this plane.

This beautiful Pietenpol Air Camper makes a return visit. With the frigid
temperatures the pilot was well bundled up. Nobody rode with him today?
